Funny Things
I had to email MacKenzie yesterday and ask her for a 'texting translation". one of my employees texted me back "MK", I did not know what that meant. So I texted MacKenzie and asked her. She said it mean "Okay". Why didnt he just text me "OK".? Seems like something meant to trip up unsuspecting parents.......
Katie is Coming!!
I am so happy that Katie is coming to visit tomorrow. We (I) am all in a tizzy to get things ready for Katie's arrival. Everything is sort of "out of sorts" around here with all the business work that has been going on. AND my babysitter quit last Tuesday, so I have been trying to watch both girls, work, and run a house all alone b/c Jarred has worked until at least 8:30pm every night the past 2 weeks (even Sat/Sun). I finally put down my foot yesterday and told him, "These girls are both our responsibility, we both have to work, we both have to have a home to live in, we both have decided to put the "babysitter money" back into the business for the next 3 months, so we both will have to live with the consequences. He has decided that he will come pick up Lucie everyday for at least 2 hours or be able to get home by 7pm.
I just cannot be everything and all things to everybody in this house. I told Jarred I did not quit my job to become a stay at home mom/housekeeper AND run our business. By the end of the day, I feel like Gumby, with someone or some task pulling at my legs/arms (usually literally) trying to get me to do something. All day is a fight. I boomerang from one job to the next with no moment of clarity in between. I have to fight to eat ANY food, so I end up eating all day, b/c I can never sit down for a full meal without someone crying or needing something. I have to fight to go to the bathroom, and I gave up going alone a long time ago. Every little thing all day is done with a little "tick tock" in the back of my head reminding me that I had best hurry up or someone/something is going to happen and it will be left half done. I HATE half done, it is worse than not done at all. Then I fall in the "comfort trap" where things have been quiet for more than 5 mntues and I actually start making a list of what I will do next. What a downer! I dont know why I do it to myself. Besides, usually the 5 mintues of quiet is b/c someone (Lucie) is up to no good. Like playing with my make up in my bed or eating cinnamon roll icing in her little kitchen in her room. That is like a double wammy, b/c then I am a bad SAHM b/c I was working and "now look what you have done", AND I couldnt finish my task at hand. and there is always a task at hand.........
SO, yes, I am so happy Katie is coming, but I need to clean out my car, clean up the toys out of MY office (yes, dont other women who run million dollar companies have princess panties and wooden blocks on the floors of their office), finish folding clothes, clean up 'goldfish' (the crackers, THANK GOD) off the couch, go to the store, have a meeting with Jarred, have a meeting with a loan officer, etc etc etc, and of course it all must be done--------during nap time. HA!
BTW: Lucie has poison ivy. Who ever said being a mother was boring?

Been too long
It has been entirely too long since I have posted anything. To be honest, I did not realize with everything being so hectic. Jarred has been working until 8:30pm or so every night. He is still working now. I am very lucky though. Kevin, my neighbor, has 3 girls (can you believe it?) so Lucie is next door playing with them. So, everyone can thank him for this post.
I just keep saying it, because it is so true. Lila is the sweetest baby that ever was. She just sleeps and checks stuff out. She loves looking at her sister and out the window. She can hold her head up really well now. Night time has even been going great with her sleeping from 9-1:30am last night (really too long without nursing) and then until 4:30am without nursing (that I remember, she and I fell asleep and I dont remember waking up until then). She very well may have nursed in the mean time adn I just did it in my sleep.
Lucie and I did crafts today. She loves her crafts. We made glitter pumpkins, witches and spiders for halloween decorations. I made one in particular witch for Kate with red glitter slippers and a green glitter face. I cant wait to give it to her when she gets here on Thursday. I cant wait to see her (and Mom-I havent seen her in almost a month either). We are all just too busy. Now, MacKenzie she always comes over here to print her English papers so I see her at least once a week, which I think is pretty good seeing as she is a freshman at LSU and I am so uncool.

Almost a 10!
Emmy came by today to stick me for my updated hemoglobin levels. I am almost a 10! Yeah! I was down to a 7, and my goal is back to 13 like I was before. I am supposed to be at least a 12. I am very happy about all of this.
All right, my complaints and successes of day. As much as I hate to admit it, my biggest complaint of the day (and I guess a good indicator that today went pretty good) is that Lucie has not shut up since she woke up this morning. I bet I have heard "Momma" at least 300 times today, usually in a short machine-fire type of burst, as in 5-6 times in a row really fast. Then she proceeds to try to tell me some story or thought that takes FOREVER to come out and then once it does, she says it like 4-5 more times in a row.
Success of the day, Jarred and I submitted our bids for the BIG job and were hired for a "small" job installing the new irrigation system for the Walker High School Baseball field (actually a pretty big irrigation job).
Lucie and I made Jarred a great birthday cake and dinner.....
Oh well, Lila is waking up from her nap and will be famished......

MONDAY!
Well, it has been a busy Monday here at the Pugh house. Lucie got up super early, 6:15am, and I was not ready to get up. To back up, Lucie came and got into bed with Jarred, Lila and I about 11pm last night, so Jarred shared his side of the bed until about 5am when he went to the couch. I tried to get him to put Lucie back in her bed but he said he would rather just go to the couch than wake her up and fight about it So....Lucie woke us all up early. Jarred got her going while he got ready for work and I "hid" in my bed with Lila until about 7:15am. My "hiding" ended when Lucie came in and went to "sleep" half on top of me.
So, I got alot done today since we got started almost an hour earlier than normal. The babysitter came and took Lucie to a play date with her nephew. It must have been fun, b/c when I put Lucie in the car for afternoon errands she quickly passed out and when I woke her to go into Office Depot she feel asleep again in the buggy. NOT like her at all.
Lila has been a real trooper today. She rode in the sling alot today while I did payroll and computer work. She has been to the jobsite twice, the bank twice, the postoffice and office depot. Quite a day I'd say for a 2 week old. Her face looks so horrible right now. A terrible case of newborn acne. Poor baby. Otherwise she is just about the sweetest thing. She has her moments of indecision of course where she seems to cry (really just fuss and grunts) for no reason and with out console, but it only lasts 5 minutes or so and we get something figured out. I just cannot say enough of how sweet she is, so cuddly and lovable, already smiling and laughing. She just melts my heart. I call her my "kitty cat" b/c when she is sleeping if you stroke her head or arm she makes a purring noise. She just seems so content. After she eats, she sort of snuggles down into the crook of my arm and sighs off to sleep. I am just so in love.
Jarred will be leaving Thursday pm for Houston to take a design software training class and not get back until late Saturday evening. I am already stressing about 2 full days alone with the girls. AND Wednesday is Jarreds birthday and I have not gotten him anything yet.....I had some ideas but I have waited too long now and am sort of in the stressed out place where I feel like I want to think of something great but now I cant think of anything.....
